Piers Morgan has shared an emotional tribute to cricket legend Shane Warne.
The former Good Morning Britain host took to Twitter to share some heartfelt words about the late star.
The sportsman's management announced on Friday (February 25) that he had passed away aged 52 from a suspected heart attack.
Piers tweeted: "Absolutely devastated to hear that @ShaneWarne has died from a heart attack aged just 52. He was a genius cricketer, a supreme entertainer, a fantastic bloke and a great loyal friend for many years. Just gutting news. RIP Warnie, I loved every minute in your company."
Fans of the late star flocked to social media to share their condolences.
One user said: "It’s just devastating news for everyone who has ever watched cricket, and more. I’m sorry for you as a friend too."
A second added: "Shocking news the greatest gents of the game, always up for the battle in a game but yet had so much time for people will be missed so much around the game and on commentaries sorry for your loss piers thoughts are with you all he truly was the best rip @ShaneWarne legend"
While a third penned: "Absolutely Gutted Piers, such a great man. Loved his commentary over here, so knowledgeable and clearly really loved the game of cricket. Us Brits loved him"
"Beyond awful news – an absolute cricket legend has left us and probably the best spin bowler of all time. What a loss to the game and Australia. Taken way too early. RIP Shane," typed a fourth.
A fifth commented: "Heartbreaking to find this out. Always loved watching his analysis with the sky cricket team, made the game easier to understand for a novice like myself. Thoughts are with his family."
A spokesperson from Shane's management said: "Shane was found unresponsive in his villa and despite the best efforts of medical staff, he could not be revived.
"The family requests privacy at this time and will provide further details in due course."
The cricket star had played for Australia's national team between 1992 and 2007.
Shane has been coined as one of the best bowlers in cricketing history, having taken 708 test wickets.
After retiring from the sport, Shane went on to become a much-loved pundit.
