Eamonn Holmes ‘trying so hard’ to walk again as he issues health update

Eamonn Holmes has revealed that he’s “trying so hard” to walk again following his “nightmare” health battle.

The 63-year-old TV presenter, whose career spans over fourty years, has faced a chronic health battle in recent months and had to undergo life-threatening surgery to correct his problems.

However, weeks after his operation, Eamonn broke his shoulder after he tumbled down the stairs at his home.

Then in February, he was spotted using a wheelchair as he arrived at Wembley Stadium for a football match.

Taking to his Instagram on Wednesday (March 15) the TV host shared a snap from his ongoing recovery and issued an update to his loyal legion of fans.

In the picture, Eamonn can be seen getting strapped up in a harness as he relearns how to walk again.

He captioned the photo: "Learning to walk with purpose today. Gosh I'm trying so hard. The harness gives me more confidence than I have. Wish me well.”

Fans and friends were quick to send their support to the former This Morning host, with one gushing: “Yes Eamonn! You've got this!”

S Club 7 alum Jo O'Mear commented: "Sending lots of love Eamonn,” to which he replied: “When will this nightmare end?"

Another follower added: “Keep going Eamonn. You are an inspiration to people who have mobility issues.”

“Wishing you well, you can do it – one step at a time,” said a third fan.

In January, Eamonn opened up about turning to oxygen therapy to help him recover from his health horrors.

The TV host could have been killed when one of his legs gave way sending him down a staircase after he recovered from surgery on a slipped disc in his bad back.

Eamonn, 63, broke his shoulder in the tumble and spent a week in hospital and six weeks in a private rehab centre after yet another operation.

He said at the time: “There’s no connection between my waist and my legs so I need a frame, crutches or a wheelchair to get around.

“The knee can give in any time."

He added: "It’s early days but I think it’s helping. I would give anything just to be able to walk my dog or play a round of golf.”
