EastEnders star Kellie Bright has hit back at criticism after revealing she was having her third child at the age of 44.
The soap star, who plays Linda Carter on the popular BBC programme, recently revealed she is pregnant with her third child.
Kellie and her husband Paul are already parents to sons Freddy, nine, and Gene, four.
She revealed the wonderful news yesterday that she's pregnant with her 'miracle' third baby after undergoing a frozen embryo transfer.
During an interview with OK! magazine, Kellie hit back at criticism as she said if she "was a man" having her third baby in her 40s, "no one would bat an eyelid".
The television star said to the publication: "First of all if I was a man having my third child at 44, no one would bat an eyelid.
"Don't forget my husband is much younger than me.
"He's in his thirties, so he's still running around after the kids, which is great. We met when I was 31 and I didn't want to jump straight into having kids."
She explained that she would've "finished having babies at the end of her thirties" if there was a chance to map out her perfect life.
"But who gets to pick their life like that?" she concluded. "We had fertility struggled we didn't expect and had to just deal with it."
Kellie said her little one is due in August following a gruelling journey to fall pregnant with her third.
The star conceived and gave birth to Freddy, her first child, naturally when she was 34.
She underwent IVF treatment for Gene after she and her hubby struggled to get pregnant.
Following Gene's birth, Kellie says she decided to store three extra embryos just in case she wanted any more children in the future.
Two of the embryos failed to become pregnant, but luckily their last one became the pair's third child.
Kellie continued to the publication: "It has nothing to do with the boys not being enough – they absolutely are. It’s just I never felt like I was done.
"I always had an itch, a desire to have more.
"My husband and I went round in circles for a couple of years deciding whether or not to just go for the third."
