EastEnders star Louisa Lytton shows off baby girl and explains her unique name

EastEnders star Louisa Lytton showed off her gorgeous baby girl on Loose Women on Thursday and explain her unique name.

The 32-year-old welcomed her first child with fiancé Ben Bhanvra in September, announcing the happy news on Instagram.

Cradling her newborn daughter, Aura Olivia, Louisa gushed that she is the "best thing that's happened to [them]”.

After being asked about Aura’s unique name, Louise answered: "It was my partner Ben. Within the first few months of me being pregnant, we thought we were having a boy.”

While the couple had a huge list of boy’s names, they hadn’t been expecting a little girl and had to scramble to think of a name, eventually settling on Aura.

"Throughout my whole pregnancy we thought we were having a boy, so we had a shortlist of girls' names and boys' names. But we forgot about the girls' names. Ben found it somewhere," she explained.

"When we then had her, it was such a shock to the system that we didn't name her for the first few days because we hadn't thought about it, so we went back to list and it seemed to be the name that suited her the most.”

However, the star – famed for playing Ruby Allen on the BBC1 soap – admitted that motherhood didn’t get off to the “best start” after both her and Ben caught Covid.

She said: "It was difficult because I had a long labour which resulted in an emergency C-section and just as we were finding our feet, we then both got Covid.

"So it's not been the best start, but she's been fine throughout, so that's all we can ask for really.

"Because we had Covid so close after having her, we didn't have anyone coming to visit for a while, which was a shame."

She added that she felt like nothing could have ever prepared her for motherhood, despite asking for advice and reading all the books.

Louisa explained: "I just don't think anything prepares you. I read every book, I spoke to every friend and she's the best thing that's ever happened to us, but it is tough."
