EastEnders star Sid Owen has become a first-time dad at the age of 49 after welcoming a child with his fiancée Victoria Shore.
The actor, who is best known for playing Ricky Butcher in the BBC soap, announced the news on Instagram with a sweet picture and touching caption.
In the image he could be seen in blue hospital scrubs kissing his fiancée and new mum Victoria.
He wrote in the caption: "Been a long day. But. Can I say. I love you Victoria. Thank you for our baby."
His pals and former co-stars quickly left congratulatory messages in the comment section.
Patsy Palmer, who played his EastEnders love interest Bianca, commented: "Congratulations to you all."
Danniella Westbrook, who played Sam Mitchell in the BBC soap, said: "Congratulations daddy and well done Victoria."
The exciting baby news comes after the couple announced last year that they had suffered a tragic miscarriage.
Sid and Victoria had been in a relationship 20 years ago, but rekindled their romance after reconnecting over Facebook last year.
They unexpectedly fell pregnant but shared the news that they had sadly lost the baby last year.
Victoria explained in an interview with the Sun on Sunday that she became worried when she noticed light bleeding one evening, which "got heavier and didn't stop".
Sid rushed Victoria to hospital the next morning and they were told the devastating news that they had lost their baby.
Before the tragic loss, Sid spoke of his excitement to become a father.
He told The Sunday Mirror: "I never ever dreamt I would have kids. The older you get the more distant that idea seems, you give up hope sometimes, so it is a miracle it has happened."
He added: “I’m glad I am doing it now rather than in my 20s, I would have been a rubbish dad then.
"Vic wants to lose her weight and we want the baby at the wedding – just sat in a pram looking pretty.”
