Elon Musk has amassed global attention as the CEO of Tesla and private space company SpaceX.
The billionaire businessman has also recently been making headlines over an intense legal battle with Twitter, after making a deal to buy the company, before backing out and then U-turning on that decision and attempting to strike up a deal again.
As the battle to secure a deal continues, the BBC is aiming to delve deeper into the life and career of the billionaire in a new docuseries titled The Elon Musk show.
The series features interviews with his family members, friends and business associates.
One person who has been opening up about Musk in the series is his two-time ex-wife Talulah Riley.
Here's everything you need to know about their romance, including how they met and their two failed marriages.
Who is Talulah Riley?
Talulah Riley is a British actress who has starred in dozens of films and TV series.
She is best known for her roles in Pride & Prejudice, St Trinian's and it sequel, St Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold.
The 37-year-old grew up in Hemel Hempstead in Hertfordshire and began her acting career in 2003, appearing in an episode of Poirot.
She has gone on to star in films including Inception, The Bad Education Movie, The Last Witness and The Liability.
From 2016 to 2018 she also starred as Angela in American dystopian TV series Westworld, and this year she played Vivienne Westwood in the new Hulu series Pistol, based on the memoir of legendary Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones.
How did Elon Musk meet Talulah Riley?
Elon Musk met Talulah Riley during a trip to London in 2008 after splitting from his first wife, Justine Musk.
The couple first crossed paths at a bar called Whisky Mist in Mayfair, where they were introduced to each other by the club's promoter and immediately hit if off.
Opening up about being romanced by Musk on The Elon Musk Show, Talulah revealed: "My first impressions were that he was very sweet, he seemed quite shy.
"He said 'may I put my hand on your knee' and I said 'okay go on then', so it was quite sweet that he asked."
She continued to tell the story of how he wooed her, saying: "He said 'I don't usually do this but you know I'd love to see you tomorrow, can we meet for breakfast?'
"And then we had breakfast and at the end of breakfast he said 'will you come and have lunch with me?' So then we went for lunch and then he said 'will you come to dinner?'"
Talulah also recalled a time at the start of their relationship when Musk convinced her to come back to his hotel room with the promise of showing her videos of rockets.
She added: "We did get into his hotel room and he did just show me rocket videos."
Elon Musk and Talulah Riley's first marriage
Despite the unusual attempt to woo Talulah, it seemed to work and within 10 days the couple were engaged.
They married for the first time in 2010 in a fairytale wedding in the Scottish Highlands.
The couple arrived at the ceremony at Dornoch Cathedral in Sutherland in a white Rolls-Royce, then paraded around the town square in a horse-drawn carriage after tying the knot.
The ceremony was followed by a lavish reception at Skibo Castle and guests were seen arriving by helicopter and private jet.
However, the couple's first marriage together didn't last long and they divorced in 2012.
Announcing the split publicly on Twitter at the time, Musk tweeted to his ex-wife: “It was an amazing four years. I will love you forever. You will make someone very happy one day."
He later told Forbes that they had taken some time apart “to see if absence makes the heart grow fonder, and unfortunately it did not”.
Elon Musk and Talulah Riley's second marriage
It wasn't long until Talulah and Musk reconciled and they got married again in 2013.
But it looked as if their second marriage was set to be even shorter than their first, with Musk filing for divorce on New Year's Eve in 2014.
However, the Tesla CEO withdrew the petition seven months after filing it.
Despite this, the pair's second marriage did finally come to an end in 2016 with Talulah filing for divorce after the couple had been living separately for the previous six months.
In an interview with The Independent earlier this year, Riley opened up about marrying Musk for the second time.
She said: “Obviously I understand it looks strange. But that logic made sense at the time.
"I suppose the reason to get remarried was just because it felt silly to be together unmarried after having been married. You know, it’s like a habit. We were saying, ‘This is my husband.’ ‘This is my wife.’ ‘Oh, wait, no, we’re not that anymore. We better be that again.’”
Despite being divorced twice, Talulah and Elon still have an amicable relationship with Riley stating that they share a “very deep love and connection”.
She added: “He’s a great friend. He looks out for me. We are in a happy place now, where we’re good to each other, which is really nice. I have the utmost love for him.”
