Confiding in Lydia Dingle, Paddy has began to question if there's more to Chas' escaping grief.

As Chas' relationship with Paddy is strained by Al's death, Daily Star has taken a look back at actress Lucy Pargeter's love life.

Heartbreaking split

Lucy was in a relationship with her former partner Rudi Coleano for 12 years and share three children together.

They couple came close to marrying back in 2012, but opted against it for fear of upsetting their friends.

Speaking to The Sun at the time, Lucy said: 'We were in Dubai about a month ago and we said: 'Sod it, while we're here, let's do it'.

"Then I thought all our mates would be like, "Oh cheers, thanks for the invite"."

Lucy and Rudi went their separate ways in 2019.

The statement issued by her representatives at the time read: "Lucy Pargeter has confirmed she has separated from her long-term partner, Rudi Coleano, and, while no longer together, their main priority is raising their three daughters."

Single mum

Lucy and Rudi share three children together, their eldest daughter Lola was born in 2005 and they welcomed twin girls, Missy and Betsey in 2017, who were convinced through IVF.

Speaking about her struggles, the soap star said at the time: "Ever since Lola, we've been trying for 11 years and now we're expecting twins.

"We thought if it happens, it happens. But it never did. We just thought I was too stressed out with work or a house renovation.

'We never had any concerns about secondary infertility because we had Lola so easily after six months of being together."

Lucy previously admitted her children are more important than having a perfect post baby body that celebrities are pressured to have.

She told The Mirror: "'I'd rather be the reality of someone who has just had a child than the unrealistic version some people portray.

"I don't look how I used to – there are a few things I'm not happy with – but right now my children are my priority and I come second."

Co-star bond

Lucy has a close bond with co-star Emma Atkins, who plays Chas' cousin Charity Dingle in the ITV soap.

The actresses who have a mutual understanding of juggling motherhood and a busy work schedule, jointly manage childcare for their children.

As their children go to the same school they often help each other out by taking it in turns to do the school run.

Emma previously said: "We’re each other’s rock, there’s an innate trust, an authenticity there.

"We make each other laugh, and we’ve never not enjoyed working together."

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7.30pm on ITV
