Fox News journalist Jim Angle dies at Virginia home as co-star tributes pour in

Reports have confirmed that Fox News star Jim Angle has died, 75, at his home in Arlington, Virginia – with the cause of not yet known.

The journalist had signed up to the the broadcasting giant as the channel was about to launch in 1996.

He had endured many successes as the media outlet including the coverage of monumental events such as President Bill Clinton's reelection and then his famous impeachment trial just three years later.

As a senior Whitehouse Correspondent, Jim had even been on-hand to assist with the reporting for the first campaign for Barack Obama – who made history books as the first black president in the United States.

Jim later bagged himself a promotion in 2011 and earned the new title of chief national correspondent.

In 2014, the journalist stepped down from TV and news and retired.

Paying tribute, Fox News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said that Jim's contribution to news was "unmatched"

She wrote: "Jim was a FOX News original and a top Washington correspondent whose talent and fearless reporting was unmatched.

"He was a central figure to establishing our Washington bureau in 1996 and was beloved across the entire network for his down-to-earth easygoing demeanor, his kindness and a smile that was ever present.

"He will be greatly missed, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to his entire family," FOX News Media CEO Suzanne Scott said. "
