Full list of new Netflix movies coming in 2021 as they vow to release one weekly

There's no denying that Netflix has been somewhat of a saviour during the various lockdowns and it seems there's going to be no shortage of entertainment in 2021.

The official Twitter account for Netflix film announced on January 12 that a new movie will be added every single week this year.

The post read: "2021 = a new movie EVERY WEEK on Netflix. Here's a sneak peek at 27 of the biggest, brightest, fastest, funniest, feel-good, feel-everything films and stars coming to Netflix this year."

Some of Hollywood's biggest film stars feature in the line-up, including the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Dwayne Johnson, Sandra Bullock, Meryl Streep, and Idris Elba.

Filmmakers also making appearances include Zack Snyder, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Halle Berry, Joe Wright and Sam Levinson.

For example, a two-and-a-half minute promo clip promoted The Big Short director Adam McKay's political satire Don't Look Up, which stars DiCaprio and Lawrence, alongside Cate Blanchett, Rob Morgan, Jonah Hill, Timothee Chalamet, and Ariana Grande.

A Netflix description of the movie reads: "Don’t Look Up tells the story of two low-level astronomers, who must go on a giant media tour to warn mankind of an approaching comet that will destroy planet Earth."

  • Bridgerton's Phoebe Dynevor unrecognisable as Waterloo Road teen Siobhan Mailey

Chris Hemsworth also features in the short clip as his new film, Escape from Spiderhead, will drop onto the steaming service too.

The science fiction film is set in the near future and sees two prisoners take part in a new drug test in order to shorten their prison sentences.

For those Netflix fans who like a bit of romance, Zendaya will reunite with Euphoria creator Sam Levinson opposite Tenet star John David Washington in romantic drama Malcolm and Marie.
