Fuller House writer David A Arnold passed away on September 7 at the age of 54.

His family issued a statement surrounding his death which said: "It is with great sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of our husband, father, brother and friend, David A. Arnold.

"David passed away peacefully today in his home and doctors have ruled the cause of death due to natural causes."

David's family concluded the heartfelt post: "Please keep our family in prayer and respect our privacy at this time, as we are all shocked and devastated by this loss."

David was just three dates into a four-month national comedy tour at the time of his sudden death.

Alongside being a stand-up comedian, David was also a sitcom writer, producer and actor.

He began his decorated career as a stand-up comic in 1997 and went on to perform at the Montreal Comedy Festival and on Jamie Foxx’s Laffapalooza.

David had an accomplished career as a writer, working on shows such as Meet The Browns, The Rickey Smiley Show andRaising Whitley.

He also served as a writer and producer for the Netflix revival series, Fuller House.

The dad-of-two's first stand-up comedy show, David A. Arnold: Fat Ballerina was released on Netflix in 2019 while his follow up comedy special titled, It Ain't For The Weak, premiered in July 2022.

He released his first Netflix stand-up special, David A. Arnold: Fat Ballerina, in 2019. His second, It Ain’t For The Weak, was released in July this year.

American actor Chris Spencer penned a statement to his best friend which read: "Our closely knit comedy community mourns the loss of one of the greatest to ever do it.

"He was admired by his peers, respected by other veterans, and looked up to by the burgeoning comedians that he mentored. He will be deeply missed, especially by his comedy fraternity.”

David is survived by his wife Julie L. Harkness and their two daughters; Anna-Grace and Ashlyn.
