Holly Willoughby ‘in tears’ over ‘queue jump’ chaos but won’t quit This Morning

This Morning host Holly Willoughby has been left devastated having received a furious backlash from the public due to the "queue jumping chaos."

It appeared that Phillip and Holly "jumped the queue" to see The Queen lying in state on Friday however ITV have said the duo were there in a "professional capacity"

As reported by The Daily Mail, Holly was left in "floods of tears" and she and her co-host Phil begged producers to defend them.

The pair were said to be left fuming that ITV didn't take action for several days before releasing a statement to defend them both.

On Tuesday's episode of This Morning Holly addressed the chaos and said that they would "never skip a queue."

It comes after ITV told The Sun that Holly will not be quitting the morning show.

They said that the star had been left "devastated" by the negative reaction but will not be resigning.

The statement said: "Holly will not quit.

"She has been devastated by all the negative reaction after she turned up to work at Westminster Hall with Phil on Friday, but she's not going to resign.

"This Morning has been her life for more than a decade and the only way she'd consider quitting at this stage is if viewers really didn't want her there."

They also explained that Holly is still very popular with viewers and she will stay on the show "for a good while yet."

Holly addresses the "queue jumping" rumours on yesterday's episode of This Morning.

During a montage of the past 11 days Holly said: "Like hundreds of accredited broadcasters and journalists we were given official permission to access the hall.

"It was strictly for the purpose of reporting on the event for millions of people in the UK who haven’t been able to visit Westminster in person.

"The rules were that we would be quickly escorted around the edges to a platform at the back. In contrast those paying respects walked along a carpeted area inside the coffin and were given time to pause.

"None of the broadcasters and journalists took anyone's places in the queue and no one filed past the Queen.

"We of course respected those rules however we realised that it may have looked like something else and therefore we totally understand the reaction.

"Please know that we would never jump a queue."
