Holly Willoughby has said that she was left mortified after her first day on set for a new acting role went horribly wrong.
The This Morning presenter is set to cameo on an upcoming episode of Midsomer Murders, and admitted she fluffed her lines despite only having two.
Whilst chatting to co-host Phillip Schofield on their breakfast TV show, as well as Neil Dudgeon who plays DCI John Barnaby in Midsomer Murders, she said she was left "so embarrassed".
The 40-year-old said: "Thank you for having me when I came down, it was one of the best days of my life, it was like Disney world for me."
Neil wasn't so disparaging of her performance.
"I have to say we were all very impressed by how you just stepped up," he said.
"We’d do a line run and rehearse the scene a bit. We as actors go, 'Oh Dorothy, what’s her name? Dorothy? What’s my line?' and all that, and of course Holly just stepped up."
However, Holly modestly admitted that all did not go to plan.
She interrupted: "That is not necessarily quite true. I forgot my line!"
"You’re being very kind, I was so embarrassed to open my mouth and act because you know I’m not confident with that sort of thing," she said turning to Phil.
"So to anyone who would listen I said my two lines repeatedly at them over and over."
Neil remained complimentary, and assured Holly that she had done nothing wrong.
He continued: "It’s more than two lines!
"But that’s what you’ve got to do, you’ve got to rehearse just to get better at anything."
As the conversation went on, there was tension in the air as one obvious question was left unanswered. Fortunately, Phil was on hand to ask what we were all thinking.
He exclaimed: "But are you killed? Do you get out of there alive?"
Holly refused to let any secrets slip about her episode, which is yet to get a confirmed air date.
