How to Watch the 2022 Grammy Awards

Fans from around the world are getting ready to celebrate the biggest names in music. But with all the changes to the event in recent months, some may be wondering when and how to watch the 64th Annual Grammy Awards. Here’s a breakdown of the details, including where to stream and who’s performing.

When are the 2022 Grammys?

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony will be broadcast on Sunday, April 3, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. EST. The event was originally scheduled for Jan. 31, 2022. But due to the rise in coronavirus cases around the country, the Recording Academy postponed the show.

“The health and safety of those in our music community, the live audience, and the hundreds of people who work tirelessly to produce our show remains our top priority,” the Recording Academy said in a statement. “Given the uncertainty surrounding the Omicron variant, holding the show on January 31st simply contains too many risks.”

In late January, the Recording Academy announced the new April 3 date. And they revealed that the event’s venue was changed from LA’s Crypto.com Arena to the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

How to watch the 2022 Grammy Awards

The 2022 Grammy Awards will air exclusively on CBS and CBS All Access on April 3. Viewers tuning in from their mobile or streaming devices can live stream the event via various subscriptions services, including Paramount+, Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, YouTube TV, or FuboTV.

Fans can also watch live red carpet action and award show highlights on the Grammys’ live webstream.

Who is hosting the 2022 Grammy Awards show?

Trevor Noah will host the Grammy Awards show for the second time in a row in 2022. Last year, he hosted the show in an intimate space due to pandemic-related safety protocols. But this year, he’ll be up on stage in front of a live audience.

“I think the live element does bring in an energy but then you do sacrifice a little bit of that intimacy,” The Daily Show host told the Associated Press. “But it’s nice to have fans cheering for their favorite artist. It’s nice to see the performances because one of the biggest reasons the Grammys is my favorite award show is that it is a live music festival.”

The 2022 Grammy nominees include Jon Batiste, Justin Bieber, and Doja Cat

Grammy nominations for 2022 were announced in November 2021. The star-studded list of nominees includes Justin Bieber, Doja Cat, Tony Bennet, Lady Gaga, Billie Eilish, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, and dozens more.

Jazz musician and composer Jon Batiste leads the nominees with 11 nods for the night. His studio album, WE ARE, is nominated for eight Grammys, including Record of the Year and Album of the Year. And as the composer for Disney and Pixar’s Soul soundtrack, he earned three more nominations, including one for the track, “Bigger Than Us.”

Who’s performing at the Grammys this year?

The 64th Annual Grammy Awards show will feature live performances from some of the most popular artists in the world. The star-studded lineup includes BTS, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, and Billie Eilish.

Brandi Carlile will also take the Grammy stage, along with Jack Harlow and Brothers Osborne. Kanye “Ye” West was also scheduled to perform. But after the rapper made controversial remarks about Grammy host Trevor Noah on social media, he was reportedly taken off of the schedule.
