Naughty Boy was faced with a heartbreaking death just weeks before entering the I'm A Celebrity castle.

The 36-year-old musician, real name Shahid Khan, logged into his official Twitter account last month to share the sad news that his cat Zion had been killed.

Along a snap of his beloved pet, the musician penned on October 29: "Rest in heaven Zion my beautiful cat who passed away last night from a tragic car accident.

"The light is always at the end of the tunnel. #missyouboy"

Unsurprisingly, the social media post was inundated with supportive messages from fans.

One of record producer's 195,000 followers penned: "Oh no! So sorry for your loss. RIP Zion."

Another added: "I'm sorry to hear that happened."

A third person posted: "I’m so so sorry. Poor Zion, that is such sad news. May he rest in peace, amen."

While a fourth fan said: "Awful, losing pets is so hard. Sorry for your loss."

Naughty Boy is set to enter Gwyrch Castle alongside the likes on Richard Madeley, Arlene Phillips, Frankie Bridge and Danny Miller this weekend.

The La La La hitmaker recently revealed that he's joined the gruelling ITV show line-up to raise awareness for his mum's health condition.

He said: "“I think it is important for people like myself to create awareness about it.

“Dementia UK needs constant funding, and I am going to miss Mum the most whilst I am away in the Castle. I live with Mum, and I am used to seeing her all the time.

"Mum hasn’t been very well, and it is going to be difficult for me being away.

"But that said, I think the break will be good for both of us.”

He added: "I look for glimpses, as long as I get a few glimpses a day of who Mum really is.

"A lot of that is to do with love, when I get a love vibration from her or something that reminds me that I'm her youngest son and she's my mum, she's still there."

I'm A Celebrity returns ITV and ITV Hub on Sunday, November 21 at 9pm
