"They remain good friends and wish each other the best for the future."

This comes after it had been reported that Jerry had asked the court to cancel the divorce she filed just five weeks ago.

Murdoch, who owns The Sun and The Times newspapers and Talk TV in the UK, wed former supermodel partner Jerry Hall in 2016.

It is the 91-year-old's fourth failed marriage.

News of Murdoch’s decision in June to divorce Hall, 66, is claimed to have shocked the former supermodel.

Jerry Hall responded by filing for divorce on July 1 in Los Angeles rather than the UK, where they were married.

This was the 66-year-old supermodel's first marriage having being in a long-term relationship with Rolling Stones star Mick Jagger previously.

Together she and the singer share four children, however, the two never got married during their 22-year relationship.

Murdoch, who also owns Fox News and the Wall Street Journal is valued at around £14.5 billion.

He has six children, including daughter Prudence MacLeod – who he had with first wife Patricia Booker – and daughter Elisabeth and sons Lachlan and James with his second wife Anna Mann.

He has two other daughters from third wife Wendi Deng called Chloe and Grace.

To celebrate their central London wedding, Murdoch tweeted: “I am the luckiest and happiest man in the world.”

It was the same year that Murdoch put in an £11.7 billion bid to by TV company Sky.

Murdoch's latest UK media venture was to launch TalkTV earlier this year.

He brought in Piers Morgan as a big name but the star has announced that he is taking a break from Uncensored as he prepares to film his next series interviewing serial killers.

While Piers takes time away from the his London studio, Jeremy Kyle has been making his mark.

Jeremy took to his new Instagram account to post a story to his growing fanbase showing himself making his way into work through the hallways of Piers's Ealing HQ.

However he couldn't help but jokingly show disgust and contempt as he noticed all the pictures of iconic moments from his esteemed colleague's career that lined the walls of the reception area.

So to counter this, Jeremy appeared with paper copies of his TalkTV promo headshot in hand which he used to then stick them in front of the frames to cover the images of Piers up on the walls.

This left the regular host feeling annoyed and Piers posed a drastic question to his 1.9 million Instagram followers as he pleaded with them for "someone to call security please … urgently", alongside a string of red in the face swear expletive emojis.
