Jesy Nelson hopes to close chapter on Little Mix after Jades Drag Race swipe

Jesy Nelson wants to “finally close a chapter” on her nearly 10-year stint with Little Mix after Jade Thirlwall appeared to take a cheeky swipe at the former band member during her guest appearance on Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK Vs The World.

The 29-year-old singer was welcomed back onto the hit BBC Three show last week as a guest judge where she helped the queens record their own hit song in the studio.

When RuPaul, 61, asked Jade what the difference was working with the competitors compared to her group members, she said: “It was just the same really.

“I bossed everyone around and there’s an ugly rumour going around that one of the girls is leaving the group tonight.”

And it’s fair to say fans of the group – featuring Perrie Edwards and Leigh-Anne Pinnock – were left in stitches at the cheeky dig.

But not everyone was a fan of the comment, as a source later told OK! Online that the 30-year-old songstress wants to move on without the drama from her leaving the group being used against her in the future.

The insider explained: “Jesy doesn’t like that her leaving the band has been dragged up again.

“She had her reasons for leaving the group and it’s a chapter that she’s wanting to finally close.”

The Daily Star has reached out to Jesy’s representatives for a comment on this story.

The brunette beauty sensationally quit the chart-topping girl group back in December 2020 less than a month after they released their sixth studio album Confetti.

But less than six months after leaving the group, Jesy launched her solo career and dropped her first single Boyz, featuring Nicki Minaj.

However, the Londoner found herself embroiled in a public fall-out with her former bandmates as she hosted a now infamous Instagram live stream with her fellow collaborator.

During the stream, Nicki appeared to call Leigh-Anne a “clown” and a “bully” as fans swarmed to her defence online.

Back in October, it was reported that the solo artist wanted to put a stop to her online feud with the mum-of-two as she felt the constant jabs back and forth was “getting a bit much.”

A source told the Mirror at the time: “The last thing she wanted was to be embroiled in a Little Mix vs Jesy feud.

“The girls have been through a lot together and she truly believes everyone can co-exist in the industry without the war of words. The fans deserve better. It’s all getting a bit much.”
