The former ‘Dancing with the Stars’ contestant addresses her absence from the annual event, which took place on Saturday, April 9, months after she rants against the company.
AceShowbiz –JoJo Siwa has finally addressed her absence at the 2022 Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. Revealing that she was not invited to the annual event, the former contestant of “Dancing with the Stars” claimed she is also “not sure” why she didn’t get an invite.
The 18-year-old set the record straight through an Instagram post shared on Saturday, April 9. “A lot of you have been asking me why I’m not at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards tonight, and the answer is very simple: I wasn’t invited,” she said in the clip. “I’m not sure why, but I just didn’t get an invite.”
JoJo reiterated the statement in the caption of the post. She penned, “A lot of you have been asking why I’m not at the Nickelodeon Kid [sic] Choice Awards tonight, I don’t want anyone to think it was my choice not to go…. I simply didn’t get an invite:(.”
It remains unclear whether the snub has something to do with JoJo’s rant against Nickelodeon last September. At that time, she accused the company of not allowing her to sing tracks from new musical film “The J Team” during the concerts.
“I go out on tour in January. My movie musical was just released (with 6 new original songs)… Nickelodeon told me today that I’m not allowed to perform/add any of the songs from the film into my show,” the YouTube sensation alleged. “These are MY songs, MY voice, MY writing. Does this seem fair???”
“There is no reason that this music should not be included,” the singer/dancer continued. “Working for a company as a real human being treated as only a brand is fun until it’s not. (sic)”
