Jorgie Porter says her pregnancy has been a rollercoaster of emotions.
The actress, 34, discovered she is expecting again – less than a year after miscarrying quads.
That meant at first she struggled to feel excited, because she was worried about how it would go.
She said: “At first it was obviously a bit scary. I was nervous to get excited.”
But earlier this month she finally felt comfortable telling others. The Hollyoaks star and fiancé Ollie Piotrowski decided to reveal the happy news with a post on social media. A video included a scan of the baby.

And going public has helped Jorgie feel even more relaxed about what’s happening. She said: “Now I’m able to talk about being pregnant, it’s a relief. The reaction has been amazing.
“Sometimes when you put a post up, you’re thinking, ‘What are they going to say?’ You worry that they’re going to be nasty. But I haven’t had one single nasty comment.
“A lot of people have thanked me for speaking about what I’ve gone through, too.
“I always think you just have to be honest. The support I’ve had from fans has been simply amazing. It is times like this when you love social media.”
Jorgie has also had support from her co-stars at Hollyoaks. She added: “It has been unreal. They just care so much. You can tell they are genuinely so lovely.”
Earlier this year Jorgie and Ollie appeared on ITV’s Loose Women chat show to talk about her miscarriage.
She explained: “We were going for scans regularly… It was during our fifth or sixth scan, they said, ‘You’ve had a miscarriage, they’ve gone’.”
Now the couple are putting their heartbreak behind them as Jorgie prepares to finally become a mum.
Last weekend she showed off her baby bump on the red carpet at the British Soap Awards.
Jorgie stole the show in a white designer dress. And she enjoyed the chance to relax in front of the cameras for once.
She said: “It’s a bit weird not having to suck in my tummy. Normally I’ll miss out on having a club sandwich. Now I’m pregnant I can have two!”
Jorgie will take a break from playing Theresa McQueen while on maternity leave. And there is no guarantee she’ll return. She said: “I don’t know what will happen after I’ve had the baby. I’ll have to speak to my producer about that."
