Rapper Kanye West, who changed his legal name to Ye in 2018, is reportedly no longer a billionaire after apparel brand Adidas cut ties with the rapper over some recent comments made by Kanye.

The rapper's net worth is reportedly $2billion (£1.7billion).

His fortune is a combination of his estate, his clothing brand Yeezy (which is a multi-year deal with Adidas), his music, as well as a five percent stake in his ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s clothing brand SKIMS.

Adidas has since cut ties with the 45-year-old after he made anti-Semitic statements on social media.

In a statement on October 25, the clothing giant said that they will halt production on the Yeezy line.

They said: "Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness.

"After a thorough review, the company has taken the decision to terminate the partnership with Ye immediately, end production of Yeezy branded products and stop all payments to Ye and his companies.

"Adidas will stop the Adidas Yeezy business with immediate effect."

Ye has not apologised for any of his remarks, he said: "I feel happy to have crossed the line of that idea so we can speak openly about things like getting cancelled by a bank.”

Following his tweets, which were extremely offensive to the Jewish community, he got the boot from both Twitter and Instagram.

People had also been sharing a clip from US TV show Drink Champs where he was interviewed on October 16.

In the video, he states: "I can say anti-Semitic things, and Adidas can’t drop me. Now what? Now what?"

This isn’t the first time within the last few months that Kanye has been under fire for his actions.

At Paris Fashion Week earlier this month, he wore a ‘White Lives Matter’ to his Fashion Week debut.

His music sales and streams have suffered because of all the scandal surrounding the rap star.

Streams of his albums went down by 23 percent, while radio play of his songs have dropped by 13 percent.
