Kate Garraway has told how her life was turned upside down after her husband Derek Draper was diagnosed with coronavirus.
Derek contracted Covid-19 in March 2020 and was quickly taken to intensive care where he was put into an induced coma and battled the deadly virus for nearly 400 days, before returning home.
The 54 year old former Labour lobbyist still needs care 24-hours a day and is unable to walk and talk properly as he continues to battle the long-term effects of the virus.
Good Morning Britain host Kate, 54, discussed her husband's health in her new BBC series, Your Body Uncovered, on Wednesday night.
She said at the start of the episode: "Having a serious health condition is terrifying and having someone you love with a health condition can be just as daunting.
"When my husband Derek was diagnosed with Covid-19, it turned our lives upside down. And that fear was made even harder to bear because I didn’t understand what was going on inside his body."
In Kate's new six-part series she examines how medical imaging technology to allow patients to see inside their own bodies to better understand their medical condition and the treatment choices available to them".
Kate explained "So we’re bringing patients and their doctors together in our unique imaging centres where they’ll have a mind-blowing consultation which helps them get to grips with their condition from the inside out."
Discussing the show last year, Kate said: "I am thrilled to be part of this fascinating new series that uses the most incredibly advanced technology to help us get a better understanding of how our bodies function when they require urgent medical attention.
"I believe we have all become increasingly curious about our health and well-being since the start of the pandemic, including me personally.
"I'm looking forward to delving deeper into the fascinating, emotional and empowering journey of all our patients and for them to see what is going on inside their own bodies."
Last week Kate opened up about his recovery and her struggles caring for him in documentary Caring For Derek which aired on Tuesday.

In the documentary, Kate revealed she jetted off with Derek to Mexico to investigate a specialist treatment trial for her husband.
Kate discussed her optimism for the treatment, saying: "I think actually there’s a huge amount of hope for him to improve. I think the treatment could be positive. I want to be slightly careful about saying too much, because I’m aware everybody will go, ‘What is the trial?"
