Kate Lawler shares that daughter Noa Daisy’s name has poignant family connection

Kate Lawler has revealed the poignant and very personal reason why she and fiancé Martin have named their new daughter Noa Daisy Ilse.

The former Big Brother beauty, 40, gave birth on Thursday but the arrival was full of complications.

The newborn had to be rushed to intensive care with 'breathing difficulties' and only on Sunday did she come off oxygen.

But now their adorable baby is home – and she has a beautiful name.

The Virgin Radio presenter shared a sweet video of Noa sleeping peacefully as the parents captured the moment she was taken out of the hospital in a baby carrier.

She says the name was borne out of Martin's family tragedy.

Kate explained why she and her husband-to-be – who she always calls Boj – picked Noa Daisy Ilse.

She accompanied the post with a lengthy caption, in which she revealed the origin of her daughter's name.

Kate wrote: "Five days ago at 2:01pm on 11.02.2021, our beautiful daughter arrived and although we only got home from hospital earlier this evening, we’re hopeful tomorrow’s visit from the midwife means we’re home for good.

"I’ll tell you more about her journey so far as soon as I can string a sentence together but for now… We’d love you all to meet our little girl… Noa Daisy Ilse.

"In case you’re wondering about her name, if you listen to our podcast, you’ll know from the earlier episodes of Maybe Baby that we chose this name as soon as we discovered we were having a girl."

Kate continued: "We came across the name Noa after meeting Boj’s cousin’s wife when they came to visit from Israel a few years ago.

"It’s a popular female name over there and is pronounced just like the name Noah.

"Her middle name Daisy is a name we also both love and her other middle name ILSE was the name of Boj’s grandma.

"When we told Boj’s Mum we were having a girl, she told us Boj’s Grandma’s birthday was a couple of days before Noa’s due date.

"Ilse passed away on Boj’s 12th birthday and they were very close so this name it means a lot to our family. Noa will take Boj’s last name which he doesn’t share online (the one bit of privacy he has left thanks to me)."

"Lots of love. Kate, Boj & Noa x".

They are now all safely home after they were forced to stay longer in hospital after baby Noa "lost too much weight".
