Leigh-Anne Pinnock has described performing her first acting role in the blockbuster movie Boxing Day as one of “the proudest moments of her life”.
The Little Mix star, 30, shared a teaser of the upcoming movie on her Instagram account as she announced that the movie was available to stream online.
In the clip, the mum-of-two sang her heart out to the classic song Say A Little Prayer by Aretha Franklin as she starred in her theatrical debut through the role of Georgia.
And it appears as though she wasn’t the only person bursting with pride as she starts confessed her mum “cried her eyes out” when she watched the two-hour long film.
In an emotional post on social media, the pop star shared how much she loved playing the role as her mum and dad beamed with pride after they watched the hit film over the festive period.
She penned: “This will forever be one of the proudest moments of my life.
“I’ll never forget the pride on my mum and dad’s faces when they were watching, my mum cried her eyes out because it’s one of her favourite songs.”
She added: “This was such a special moment for me and to be able to act it out alongside @amlameenbaby was just an honour… we did that @amlameenbaby.
“And to anyone who once said I couldn’t … I DID that! #BoxingDayTheMovie is OUT to stream everywhere!”
And it’s fair to say viewers loved the film just as much as her doting parents did as the star was flooded with a slew of complimentary messages from her celebrity friends and loyal fans online.
The Only Way Is Essex star Vas J Morgan wrote: “Oh baby girl you better sangggggg,” as model Taylor Ward added: “Amazing, absolutely loved it, well done girl.”
Emilia Clarke’s body double Rosie Mac chimed in with: “Breathtaking,” with a fire emoji while her co-star Aml Ameen agreed: “We did that Leigh.”
Her 8.1million fans have fallen in love with her cover of the iconic record and since the film dropped, viewers have been demanding the star release song on Spotify.
One user wrote: “Leigh when are we getting Women and the two Covers on Spotify to stream? We need the Songs.”
Another agreed: “So proud of you sis! Also I need this song to be available to stream everywhere please!”
A third chimed in with: “We need this and Woman on Spotify Leigh.”
