Lorraine Kelly sparks concern as ITV stars elderly mum is rushed to hospital

Lorraine Kelly has thanked NHS staff in Scotland after her 80-year-old mother was rushed to hospital.

It comes after the ITV presenter's mum Anne was recently taken to hospital in her hometown of East Kilbride, but it seems she was in safe hands.

Lorraine, 62, was grateful to the NHS staff for looking after her mum in her time of need.

The beloved daytime host decided to take to social media to praise the staff publicly for their hard work.

It is currently unclear why Anne was taken to hospital, but Lorraine gave a special shoutout to Dr Jack Fairweather, a kidney specialist at the Lanarkshire venue.

She wrote: "Huge thanks to @JAFairweather and all at @UHMonklands who are taking such good care of my wee mum. Can’t thank you all enough [heart emojis]."

Lorraine was inundated with supportive messages from fans who were hoping the presenter's mum made a swift recovery.

One wrote: "Hope you're wee mum gets better soon Lorraine".

A second said: "Sorry to hear about your Mum Lorraine going into Hospital, ive just read. I hope she gets well soon and a speedy recovery. Love to you and all the family"[sic].

A third commented: "Wishing yer wee ma a speedy recovery."

Lorraine later told one worried fan that her mum was now "in safe hands".

Kelly recently offered her own words of support to her fellow ITV presenter Kate Garraway, who had to pull out of hosting Good Morning Britain as her husband's health reportedly took a turn for the worse.

Lorraine said: "I just wanted to say, we are obviously sending all of our love to our Kate.

"I know a lot of you have seen in the newspapers and online that Derek is back in hospital and obviously, you know, battling the effects after Covid.

"We just want to send our love to them, don't we?"

According to the Sun, Derek was rushed back into hospital as he was seriously ill following his battle with Covid.

A source allegedly close to the family had said he remains "seriously unwell" and has been receiving specialist care at the hospital with Kate by his side as he has been monitored by top consultants.

Derek has reportedly been rushed back to hospital for a "serious" procedure following his latest setback.
