Love Islands Kem Cetinay in head-on crash that killed biker with car

A biker was killed in a "head-on" crash with Love Island star Kem Cetinay's car, an inquest has heard.

Former Love Island winner Kem was driving his Mercedes G-Wagon 4×4 near Hornchurch in East London when a motorcyclist smashed into him at 60mph.

Tommy Griggs, the 28-year-old dad, died on August 4 after being hurled 20ft into the air as a result of the impact before landing on the tarmac.

He tragically passed away at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics.

The coroner said the biker died after suffering multiple injuries and blunt force trauma in the horror crash, according to The Sun and other publications.

An inquest into the biker's death was opened and adjourned by senior coroner Graeme Irvine at East London Coroner's Court on Friday morning (August 19).

Irvine said the court had not been handed details of the driver of the other vehicle, and that a suspect had been identified in the Met Police's investigation into the incident.

He said: "It would appear a suspect has been identified by police in relation to this investigation.

"It appears to me that that person should be listed as an interested person in this inquest."

Outlining details of the fatal incident, Mr Irvine said: "This is considering an investigation into the death of Thomas Griggs, a man of 28, who died on 4 August 2022 at a location described as outside Ivy Lodge Farm in Shepherds Hill in Romford.

“The recorded time of death offered to the court is four minutes past 12 noon.

"This is a referral that was made to the court by the Metropolitan Police Service and relates to circumstances of a road traffic collision that is said to have taken place as 11.27am on the same day as Mr Griggs’ death."

He went on: "It is said the motor vehicle, that was a car, was travelling westbound and the motorcycle was travelling eastbound.

“It is said this was a head-on collision between the two vehicles. The matter is still subject to a Metropolitan Police investigation."

Kem emerged unhurt but was reportedly "deeply shaken" by the crash.

His agent previously said he was being treated as a witness, and that he was not arrested.

The inquest was adjourned to January 10, 2023 at the same location.

Kem recently broke his social media silence following the incident.

He shared a sweet gym selfie with a young boy at the gym whom he called his "little mate".
