Love Island babe Molly-Mae Hague has confessed that sex with boyfriend Tommy Fury causes her “excruciating” pain.
The popular influencer admitted that despite having surgery for her endometriosis last year she is still suffering symptoms of the debilitating condition.
Molly-Mae, 22, addressed the issue of painful intercourse with boxer Tommy as she opened up about her condition to her fans in her latest YouTube video.
She said: “My two main symptoms have been the excruciating periods and the excruciating sex.
“I will be honest, I do believe the painful sex symptom is what pushed me into getting my problem fixed, into working out what was wrong with my body because not only was I doing it for me and fixing it for me, which is obviously the main reason, I was also trying to do it for Tommy.
“I feel like the painful periods and the painful sex have been two different journeys.”
Molly then revealed that she will be seeking further specialist help as she attempts to decrease the discomfort for both her and boyfriend Tommy.
She continued: “In regards to the painful sex, that unfortunately never changed, it is something that is an ongoing issues.
“I had a blood test and MRI scan because I am going to see a specialist in London in regards to that situation.
“I couldn’t ask for a better boyfriend in regards to my endo journey. He has been so understanding and so caring.”
Molly then discussed how she would often be in so much pain with her period that she was convinced she may die or need to dial 999.
She explained: “I have nearly called myself an ambulance because of the level of pain I was in. It got so bad, I would be rolling in bed and I would actually be fearful for my life, thinking for my body to be in this much agonising pain, what is it going through?
“I literally used to lie there and think 'am I going to see tomorrow morning?'. I genuinely used to be in that much pain that I was fearful I wouldn’t wake up in the morning. It was so so horrendous.”
One area where Molly-Mae has seen the benefits of surgery is the painful periods – in the clip she explained how the level of suffering she goes through during her cycle has significantly reduced.
She said: “In regards to my painful periods I would say the operation definitely helped, it has most definitely not cured me. I still do have very painful periods, I am still extremely heavy on my period.
“I would normally have to change tampons every 30 minutes. The painful periods and heavy periods haven’t completely gone away but they are more manageable.”
Endometriosis is a gynaecological condition that causes the lining of the womb to grow in outside areas including the fallopian tubes and ovaries.
It can cause excruciating pain during periods, as well as a heavy bleed and irregular cycle, depression, miscarriage and infertility.
