Marvel star Jeremy Renner has spoken publicly for the first time since a snow plough accident left him with blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries.
The 51-year-old was airlifted to hospital on New Year's Day where he underwent surgery before being admitted to intensive care.
Authorities have since confirmed the incident occurred whilst the actor was ploughing near his Nevada home when the 6,500kg vehicle 'ran him over'.

Seemingly on the mend now, however, the Hawkeye actor posted an Instagram selfie from his hospital bed on Tuesday night (January 3) thanking everyone for their support.
"Thank you all for your kind words. I'm too messed up now to type. But I send love to you all," he wrote.
Countless Hollywood stars including Chris Hemsworth, Kate Hudson, Orlando Bloom and Isla Fisher were quick to offer their support in response, with thousands of fans too wishing Renner well within a matter of hours.
One commented: "You have always been strong and you have shown it with your character as Hawkeye. 'It doesn't matter what you did or what you were. If you go out there, you fight, and you fight to kill. You are an Avenger'. Take care and get well soon."
A second wrote: "We love you. Prayers, thoughts and virtual hugs are with you and your loved ones. 1000 wishes for a full and quick recovery."

A third added: "I'm really sorry for what you're going through right now, but we will always love you and always support you. Good luck."
And a fourth said: "From the sounds of today’s news reports, you’re super lucky to be alive. Recover fast and well, Jeremy. The Avengers still need your services."
At a press conference earlier in the day, meanwhile, Washoe county’s sheriff Darin Balaam, said his team's investigation confirmed that Renner was struck by the plough, which was being driven by a family member.
"Mr Renner went to retrieve his PistenBully or Sno-Cat – an extremely large piece of snow removal equipment weighing at least 14,330 pounds in an effort to get his vehicle moving," he said.
"After successfully towing his vehicle from its stuck location, Mr Renner got out of his PistenBully to speak to his family member. At this point, it was observed that the PistenBully started to roll.
"In an effort to stop the rolling PistenBully, Mr Renner attempts to get in the driver’s seat of the PistenBully. Based on our investigation, it is at this point that Mr Renner is run over by the PistenBully."
