Miley Cyrus Applauded for Handling Wardrobe Malfunction Flawlessly During New Years Eve Performance

The daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus experienced the fashion mishap when performing her hit ‘Party in the U.S.A.’ at ‘Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party’ on Friday, December 31.

AceShowbizMiley Cyrus has impressed many with how she handled her wardrobe malfunction onstage. The “Wrecking Ball” hitmaker found herself being showered with praises by online users as she kept on performing at “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party” despite the fashion mishap.

The incident took place when the 29-year-old performed her hit “Party in the U.S.A.” on Friday night, December 31. At that time, her silver chainmail top came undone. “Alright,” she said, before turning her bare back to the audience.

After Miley ditched her top, the crowd erupted in cheer. The daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus continued singing with the help of her backup singers as she walked backstage. She later returned by wearing a red blazer.

Instead of getting embarrassed by the mishap, Miley laughed it off. She changed her lyrics to, “Get to the club in my taxi cab/ Everybody’s definitely looking at me now/ Who’s that chick that’s rockin’ kicks?/ I’m still in the most clothes that I’ve ever worn on stage.”

Many applauded Miley for her big save. “It was iconic. She’s so adaptable. A true professional,” one social media user gushed, with another individual adding, “it’s giving… the first iconic moment of 2022.” A third wrote, “Man, if we all handle our setbacks as coolly as Miley handled that wardrobe malfunction, it might actually be a decent year.”

Aired live on NBC and its streaming platform Peacock, “Miley’s New Year’s Eve Party” was co-hosted by Pete Davidson. The Miami show included performances by Saweetie, Brandi Carlile, Anitta, 24kGoldn, Jack Harlow as well as Miley’s younger sister Noah Cyrus.

Billie Joe Armstrong was supposed to appear at the show as well. However, he announced on Thursday that he had canceled his gig because he was exposed to COVID-19. “After the holiday I found out I was exposed to COVID,” he first declared on Instagram Story.

“I’ve tested negative but I have made the decision not to travel to Miami for New Year’s Eve Party out of caution,” the Green Day frontman went on explaining. “Happy New Year and hope everyone stays safe!”
