Noel Gallagher announced that he would "get involved" if World War III breaks out as he's ready to fight.

The Oasis singer, 54, announced that he would buy guns, camouflage equipment and a telescope if Russia threatened the UK with war.

The comments come after Noel launched a furious rant about Russia's invasion of Ukraine, which enters its 24th day after the attack began on February 24.

Noel spoke on the Matt Morgan podcast, where he shared his thoughts on the invasion.

The Oasis singer, a self-confessed World War II history fanatic, proclaimed that he would happily "get involved" and defend the country.

He told Matt: "If there was an invasion here you'd have to get involved."

Noel added: "I haven't got any long-range weapons at my disposal but I could probably get a gun. I'd get out to Hampshire and I know a few people out there with shotguns and sub-machine guns.

"I would get out to Hampshire, I would access to the roof and before that I would order a load of telescopic stuff from Amazon, camouflage gear, a flask, some warm weather long johns and sit on the roof and listen to the radio and shoot anything that f***ing moved."

Noel, who lives in a lavish estate in Hampshire's tranquil countryside, delved deep into his strategy if the Russians were to attack the UK.

He said: "My roof is a bit higgledy-piggledy it's not like a helipad and my house is on a hill so I can see for f***ing miles.

"There's a guy who lives near me who is part of an armed police unit, I would just say, 'You got any of those guns that you were showing me that day?"

The High Flying Birds frontman is preparing to return to Glastonbury to play the Pyramid Stage on Saturday, June 25.

The Wonderwall singer said if there was to be an attack on the country, he would hope it comes after his Glastonbury appearance.

He said: "We've just had Covid restrictions thrown out of the door and now, 'Oh there's going to be a war is there? Nice one. F***ing hell.' Can we not have six months? Can we not have the summer off … Can we not have Glastonbury first and then go to war?"
