The ‘Clout’ emcee has canceled his scheduled performance at MGM Music Hall after he paid tribute to his late Migos bandmate by changing the avatar of his Instagram account with that of his nephew.
AceShowbiz –Offset is apparently taking some time off from work as he continues to mourn Takeoff‘s death. In the wake of his Migos bandmate’s passing, the “Ric Flair Drip” hitmaker has canceled his Boston show.
The 30-year-old was scheduled to perform at MGM Music Hall on Thursday, November 3, but he has dropped out of the event following the tragic death of Takeoff. The event presented by gaming collective Faze Clan will go on as planned without Takeoff, according to TMZ.
Takeoff was shot and killed during an altercation that broke out at 810 Billiards & Bowling in Houston, Texas on November 1. His fellow Migos member and uncle Quavo was present at the location and was seen being involved in an argument before a gunman fired shots.
It was reported that the argument broke out after a dice game that led to the fatal shooting. In a statement, his record label Quality Control Music said that Takeoff was killed by a “stray bullet” and Houston Police Chief Troy Finner said that he did not believe Takeoff to be the intended target.
Quavo was not injured in the shooting, although he reportedly fainted following the incident and had to be carried out to a vehicle. Meanwhile, two other victims, including Quavo’s assistant, were “taken in private vehicles to hospitals.”
Offset has not broken his silence on Takeoff’s death, but he has paid quiet tribute by changing his Instagram profile picture to a smiling photo of the late rapper. In the photo, Offset appeared to add a small white heart in the corner.
Offset’s wife Cardi B also addressed Takeoff’s shocking death on Wednesday by retweeting a throwback interview clip of Migos speaking to Complex. Tributes have also poured in from fellow hip-hop stars, namely Drake, The Game, Rich the Kid and Boosie Badazz (Lil Boosie).
