Outnumbered’s Karen looks unrecognisable in punk transformation years after show

Outnumbered star Ramona Marquez looked world’s away from her iconic TV character as she made a rare red carpet appearance on Thursday (17 February).

Viewers will struggle to recognise her from afar but the university student shot to stardom at just six years old back in the late noughties through her legendary role as Karen Brockman in the hit comedy series.

Since then, the auburn beauty has left her acting days behind to peruse a career in languages as she prepares to take her exams for her degree in Spanish and Mandarin at the University of Manchester.

Now, as the actress prepares to celebrate her 21st birthday next week, the student debuted her new punk rock look as she made a rare appearance to the Boots 17 make-up launch party.

Ramona commanded attention as she rocked bright red hair on the pink carpet which popped against her grungy monochrome look.

She donned a pair of dark wash low rise jeans which she teamed with a black waistcoat and a set of simple black trainers which were all the rage back in the mid 90s.

To complete her look, she added a slew of thick silver chain necklaces and bracelets which complimented her large hoop earrings.

The daring outfit showcased her new body modifications including a silver belly button piercing and a matching tongue piercing, in addition to the large Chinese dragon tattoo which proudly featured on the inside of her left arm.

To finish her ensemble, she proudly rocked a full face of makeup including elegant winged eyeliner, matching maroon lipstick and a heavy dose of blush which she applied across the bridge of her nose and underneath her eyes.

Since quitting acting, Ramona has been raking in spare cash by selling her old clothes on Depop including bras and gym wear.

Outnumbered famously aired on BBC from August 2007 to March 2014 and lasted five series, alongside four Christmas specials between 2009 and 2016.

The show was an incredible smash success with many fans sharing particular praise towards Ramona, who played the sarcastic and hilarious youngest child Karen on the hit show.
