Phillip Schofield and his wife Steph showed they were still as close as ever as they held hands as they left a party in London.

The couple had been married for 27 years when Phil came out as gay in 2020, and he said at the time that Steph had been "incredible" as he came to terms with his sexuality.

The pair showed fans there is still plenty of love between them as they stepped out for Kelly Hoppen's investiture party in London.

Photos showed them hand-in-hand as they left swanky Langan's Brasserie after helping Kelly celebrate being made a CBE.

This Morning star Phil looked as polished as ever in a grey jacket and black roll-neck, while Steph looked stylish in a vibrant teal top and black trousers.

Phil and Steph tied the knot in 1993 and went on to welcome daughters Ruby and Molly.

Last year the TV presenter opened up about his sexuality in a moving post on Instagram, before going on This Morning where he discussed it with his co-host and close friend Holly Willoughby.

"With the strength and support of my wife and my daughters, I have been coming to terms with the fact that I am gay," he wrote on Instagram.

"This is something that has caused many heart-breaking conversations at home…

"My family have held me so close: they have tried to cheer me up, to smother me with kindness and love, despite their own confusion.

"Yet still I can't sleep and there have been some very dark moments."

Months after he opened up, Phillip revealed he and Steph had no plans to divorce.

During an interview on Chris Evans' How To Wow podcast, he said it was a "work in progress".

"There is a great deal of talk of divorce (in the press) – we have not discussed that at all," he said.

"With divorce… that has not been discussed. We are picking our way through and however that works and it's a work in progress."
