Piers Morgan ‘worried’ about the Queen amid Covid fears and palace scandals

Piers Morgan has revealed he's "worried" about Queen Elizabeth II.

The 56-year-old broadcaster is currently in Australia and on Thursday, appeared on the country's The Today Show where he was asked whether he was concerned for the 95-year-old monarch following her coronavirus diagnosis.

In response, Piers confirmed that he was anxious for the ageing royal ahead of her Jubilee celebrations this Spring.

Piers said: "I am worried about the Queen.

"I've been worried about her ever since [Prince] Phillip died.

"She's 95 years old. Nearly 96. Her mom lived to 101 but didn't have any of the pressures that the Queen's had."

Adding that he thought losing her consort of many years had been "unbelievably tough", Piers stated a number of factors which he believed had added stress to the Queen.

These included the Prince Andrew scandal and the royal racism claims made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in their bombshell Oprah interview last year.

Piers said, tied in with her age and Covid scare, it was a "worrying time" for Her Majesty.

He added: "I think that the antics of Meghan and Harry have been a constant irritation that's been damaging.

"All the smearing about racism in the palace and so on has really been damaging in the commonwealth and that's hurt the Queen's reputation, the monarchy's reputation.

"I think the Andrew scandal has been monumentally damaging.

"For the Queen's son to have to pay someone millions of dollars to silence them in a sex abuse case I think is completely shameful, has heaped more problems on the Queen, and then she gets Covid."

Piers concluded his interview by saying he was a huge fan of Elizabeth and that he'd "had terrier dogs that had yapped less than Harry and Meghan".

His comments follow the broadcaster recently inviting Meghan Markle onto his TalkTV show to "settle unfinished business".
