Public Enemy rapper Flavor Flav almost crushed to death in freak car accident

Flavor Flav is "happy to be alive" after being "almost crushed to death by huge boulder" in a freak accident.

While driving in California on the rain-soaked roads Flav narrowly escaped death.

According to reports, the rapper was driving from Las Vegas back to Los Angeles.

The rare heavy southern California downpour caused a large boulder to roll down a cliffside in La Tuna Canyon and smash into the right side of Flav's car.

A rep for the Grammy winner told TMZ that the star briefly lost control of his care before being able to get to the side of the road safely.

The rep explained that he: "Came very close to death but is super grateful to be alive."

They added: "God is good."

Snaps from the accident show if he had driven just a few inches in another direction the boulder might have killed him.

“Thank God he survived and is OK, although [he’s] a bit emotionally shaken up,” his rep told Page Six.

The California rain storm is being called the “most significant storm of the season,” and has caused roads to flood and electricity to be lost throughout LA.

The 62-year-old rapper was seen most recently celebrating with Kim Kardashian and new lover Pete Davidson.

The celebs partied it up celebrating the Saturday Night Live comedian's 28th birthday at Kris Jenner's Palm Springs $12 million home.

Flav posted a snap of the stars partying, he penned: "Celebrating my adopted son Pete Davidson's birthday wit the legendz @kimkardashian and @krisjenner."

He added: "Pete… I never took a clock off my neck to give to someone and you will be the last person I do this for… it lookz real good on you…. happy birthday…"

Kim, Pete, and Kris looked cosy together wearing matching plaid pyjamas from Kim's SKIMS line.

Pete was seen in another snap with Flav wearing his famous clock pendant necklace.
