Queen hits out at celebrity photographer in resurfaced rare glimpse of monarch

In a resurfaced video clip from 2007, Her Majesty the Queen could be seen scolding a renowned portrait photographer during a photoshoot.

Iconic American photographer Annie Leibovitz was taking photos of Her Majesty when things escalated and she ended up getting a mild scolding from the head of state.

The photographer was hired to shoot photographs of the Queen at Buckingham Palace and along with her 11 assistants, she spent three weeks preparing for the short 30-minute session.

Looking regal, Her Majesty donned the full regalia of the ancient Order of the Garter, along with a tiara for the first portrait.

But things soon escalated when Annie told the Queen something that she didn't quite agree with, before snapping back unimpressed.

"I think it will look better without the crown," Annie said to the monarch.

She added: "Could we try without the crown? It will look better… less dressy. Because the garter robe is so."

Cutting her off, the Queen scolded Annie and snapped: "Less dressy?"

Sounding annoyed, she added: "What do you think this is?…"

The video came about during the A Year with the Queen documentary, which was filmed for the BBC in 2007 and followed the monarchy over a period of one year.

Earlier today a Royal spokesman said: "Following further evaluation this morning, the Queen's doctors are concerned for Her Majesty's health and have recommended she remain under medical supervision.

"The Queen remains comfortable and at Balmoral."

Her Majesty’s four children have all travelled to Balmoral, with the Duke of Cambridge flying to Aberdeenshire as well as his brother Prince Harry.

The entire nation is worried for the Queen's health, with BBC and ITV schedules interrupted to bring viewers the latest news.
