Rebekah Vardy has compared the Wagatha Christie case against the way Johnny Depp’s trial against Amber Heard was received.
The star, who is the wife of footballer Jamie Vardy, claims that she experienced sexism throughout the trial and noted that there were some similarities between the libel case held against Amber Heard.
A judge found that Coleen Rooney did not libel Vardy by accusing her of leaking “false stories” to the press.

In an attempt to figure out who was leaking personal information about her to the media, back in 2019 Coleen Rooney shared stories on her private Instagram account and change the settings so that only Rebekah Vardy’s account could see them.
The information was then found to have been leaked to the press and Coleen went public with the findings.
Rebekah claimed that the public statement, that left fans jokingly referring to Coleen as “Wagatha Christie,” had tarnished her name and reputation.
During the aftermath of the trial, Vardy has said that she felt “extremely disappointed” with the result and continued to deny the claims against her.
Rebekah spoke to TalkTV’s Kate McCann for her first interview post trial and opened up about the ordeal.
The TalkTV presenter claimed that Rebekah Vardy’s outfits “were really scrutinised throughout this court case”.
The host then asked: “Do you think there was an element of sexism in the coverage of this case?”
The WAG replied: “Totally. The whole thing was presented in such a misogynistic way. When Johnny Depp was going through his court case, there were hardly any articles, if any, about how much money he’d spent and his outfits, but it just seems like women aren’t allowed to defend themselves. Women aren’t allowed to dress nicely. There’s lots of sexism involved in it.”
McCann then asked whether Heard had “gotten a raw deal,” to which Vardy admitted that she “didn’t follow the case too much,” but agreed that Amber had regarding “how Heard was treated in court”.
Rebekah lost her trial against fellow WAG Coleen nearly three years after she was originally accused leaking “false stories” to the press.
