Rebekah Vardy has dramatically admitted her agent could be behind the leaks about Coleen Rooney's private life.
In a sensational twist in the Wagatha Christie High Court battle, Vardy said she was left "devastated" by allegations her publicist Caroline Watt could be to blame.
In a new witness statement submitted to the court, as seen by The Mirror, Vardy admitted that she has to "accept that it is possible that she may have had some form of involvement that I don't know about."
However, she insisted that Watt continued to deny to her being behind any leaks from Coleen's Instagram account.
Vary admits: "The idea that my close friend and confidante would betray me in this way seems unbelievable to me and almost impossible to accept."
In the new two page statement, Vardy says: "I have thought about this very carefully. I find it very hard to accept that Caroline would deceive me in this way. I do not know what to think.
"I do not know what role Caroline played in relation to those articles which appear to have come from Coleen's private Instagram account but I have to accept that it is possible that she may have had some form of involvement that I don’t know about.
"I still find it hard to believe given all her denials and her support to me during the case, but I can't understand why the journalists would indicate otherwise.
"I know nothing of this and I certainly did not authorise or condone her to leak information from Coleen's private Instagram to the Sun.
"I am devastated by all this. Not only have I been libelled by Coleen but I have had to face allegations that my close friend has been involved with this, and she is in such a fragile state that I can’t even address it with her properly."
Wayne Rooney's wife claimed Rebekah Vardy's Instagram account had been leaking stories and selling them to the media, a claim Rebekah strongly denies.
Earlier this month, a court heard Coleen's claim that Rebekah had leaked information on several other WAGs, as well as trying to take photographs of Sarah Harding's bag.
In a witness statement submitted to support the trial next month, Coleen claimed Rebekah and Caroline "worked together almost in a business-like fashion in order to leak private information about other high-profile individuals to the press".
Vardy denies this and is suing Coleen for libel.
After publicly outing Vardy, Coleen claims in her witness statement a string of other WAGs came forward alleging they too had been betrayed.
The trial will start on May 9.
