Rhian Sugden is set to undergo surgery to have a “suspicious” birthmark removed as she issued a health update from her hospital bed.
On Friday (January 20), the glamour model shared a selfie of herself just hours before she went under the knife to remove the growing mole from her leg.
The former Page 3 model, 36, admitted that she was feeling incredibly nervous as she informed her fans that she will be left with 12 stitches after the procedure.

Despite her fears, the model thought it was important to share her story with her 478k followers to encourage others to get themselves checked out by a medical professional.
Alongside a fresh-faced selfie wrapped up in a hospital gown, the TV star wrote: “Holey Moley. My consultant has flagged up that a birthmark on my leg looks very suspicious and has got me in to have it cut out.
“It’s quite big too so I'm nervous. Need up-to 12 stitches,” she confessed.
Rhian added: “Always make sure you keep an eye on changing birthmarks and moles. If they look dodgy as hell, get them whipped off. Better to be safe than sorry [purple heart emoji] #birthmark #molecheck.”
It comes after the former Celebrity Big Brother star shared an update on her skin issues last month when she spent a weekend in hospital as she prepared to have two “suspicious looking” moles removed from her abdomen.
At the time, the blonde beauty revealed the news on Instagram, writing: “Not so glamorous today! I’m getting some suspicious-looking freckles/moles removed this morning. Wish me luck for a normal result.”
Rhian and her husband Oliver Mellor have been open about their desires to start a family after they turned to IVF in a bid to finally conceive.

Last year, the loved-up couple were informed that their second attempt of IVF had failed to produce a successful conception as she shared her heartache with The Sun.
She told the publication: “After getting so far on our second round, it was really heartbreaking to find out it hadn’t worked. It broke me.
“It ruined Christmas for us both and it has been really difficult to deal with – especially for me having all the hormones injected and placing all my hopes on one egg.
“Infertility is something that isn’t really spoken about, and is something men and women shouldn’t be ashamed of.”
