We will believe Rihanna every time she teases new music. (She may just be trolling us at this point, but our hope is unwavering.) The superstar and beauty mogul shared the latest update yesterday, while responding to Instagram commenters who were pressing for a new release in her latest post.
What Rih was really celebrating was that her 2016 album, Anti, had spent five whole years on the Billboard 200 chart. She is the first Black woman artist to achieve that milestone. “Grateful to the most High for putting die hard supporters in my circle 🙏🏿,” she wrote in the caption, while shouting out the announcement’s coinciding with Women’s History Month. “💪🏿 congrats to everyone that contributed to this era, thank you team.”

When one commenter wrote that she should release a song to ring in the good news, Rihanna responded, “I think I should,” followed by a “soon” emoji. “Just 1 tho lol,” she added. So don’t get excited for a whole album.
