Britain's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell is "lucky to be alive" after falling off his bike in West London, and has now spoken out for the first time since it happened.
Simon, 62, was taken to hospital on Thursday night after being involved in an accident near his home, but he was released shortly after.
In an exclusive interview with ITV News, the music mogul explained how he "can't wait to get back on his bike" after he knocked out himself in a cycling accident.
The 62-year-old TV personality, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of his accident, detailed the incident, dubbing it as "boring".
He explained how he was "just cycling, not paying any attention and it was raining; and I went round a corner and just – the wheels just went under me. And then I knocked myself out".
Fortunately for Simon, there were people in the area at the time, and they stopped the traffic.
Speaking out about the accident, Simon spoke of the "only thing" that scared him.
He said that he knew that he would get a telling-off from his seven-year-old son Eric, and that was the thing he was most scared of.
"It was kind of like when I was a child, I was afraid of going home when I'd done something wrong. I got the biggest telling off. 'Daddy you didn't wear a helmet'."
At the time of the accident, a source told The Sun: "Simon is lucky to be alive.
"He was pedalling along, with his electric motor on, when the wheels suddenly went from under him after hitting a wet patch.
"He slipped and went flying over the handlebars into the middle of the road."
Simon's recent near miss is the second biking accident in the past 18 months.
The first accident on an electric bike came 18 months ago when he broke his back in Los Angeles in August 2020.
Simon, who splits his time between America and England, is currently in London filming the audition shows for ITV's Britain's Got Talent – which is set to air later this year.
