He witnessed the stabbing on Gouger Street after emergency services were called to the location.

It has been reported that a man and a woman were fighting in the street and they continued inside a service station.

Witnesses attempted to break up the fight but the woman allegedly attacked the man by stabbing him in the chest.

A 32-year-old man was treated at the scene and his injuries were not considered life threatening while a 34-year-old woman was arrested.

She was charged with aggravated assault causing harm, refused bail and was to appear at Adelaide Magistrates Court.

South Australian police have said that they know each other and that it was not a random attack.

Dev’s representatives have spoken out and confirmed that the actor, along with his friends, witnessed the fight as it was underway outside the service station.

His people told 7NEWS: “Dev acted on his natural instinct to try and de-escalate the situation and break up the fight. The group was thankfully successful in doing so and they remained on site to ensure that the police and eventually the ambulance arrived.”

They continued: “This specific incident highlights a larger systemic issue of marginalised members of society not being treated with the dignity and respect they deserve.”

“The hope is that the same level of media attention this story is receiving (solely because Dev, as a famous person, was involved) can be a catalyst for lawmakers to be compassionate in determining long-term solutions to help not only the individuals who were involved, but the community at large.”

Although Patel put himself in the dangerous situation, his representatives have insisted that there were “no heroes” during the altercation.
