Stacey Solomon leaves Loose Women for maternity leave until next year

Stacey Solomon has announced she won’t return to Loose Women until 2022, as she takes an extended bout of maternity leave.

The mum-of-three joined the show for her final episode on Friday, clad in a ‘Baby on Board’ sash and tiara to celebrate the fact that baby number four – and Stacey’s first daughter – is on the way.

During her impromptu on-screen baby shower, Stacey gushed: "I’m just so excited.

"I’m so glad we had the chance to have another baby so I can’t wait."

Speaking about expecting a new baby with fiancé Joe Swash, Stacey admitted: "I feel like this will probably be the last time that we do it, do you know what I mean? So I just want to enjoy it.

"Well, not every moment because I know I'll be ringing Nadia in tears at some point.

"I feel really grateful."

When fellow panelists Kay Adams, Linda Robson, and Nadia Sawalha pressed Stacey on when she expected to return to the show, the X Factor star said: "I will probably come back after Christmas, I reckon.

"I’ve never had a proper maternity leave.

"I don’t know how long I’ll do it for though, because I’ll be like ‘oh, where’s life outside of this?’

"You know as soon as she’s born, Linda, you’ll be round!"

Stacey has spoken candidly in the past about the difficulties of getting to the stage she’s at now, suffering miscarriages along the way to confirming baby number four.

Opening up on Instagram, Stacey wrote: "We’ve experienced it a few times in the last year and a bit and it’s such a sinking feeling (a year is not a long time when I read so many others experiences) so many of you have been trying for years and years.

"Keep going if you can and if you want to.

"But honestly it’s heartbreaking. Love you all to the moon and back."

Stacey’s followers also opened up to her about their own tragic losses, as Stacey responded: "It’s so comforting in one way because knowing so many people have had similar experiences somehow makes you feel less alone…

"But it’s also so sad because, you know that nothing you say or do will take away from how exhausting and heartbreaking those experiences are.

"Thinking of you all and I’m feeling so so grateful," Stacey added.
