Strictly Come Dancing star Natasha Kaplinsky has revealed she was rushed to hospital after being bitten while trying to split up a fight between her pooches.
Natasha, who won the first Strictly series, was mauled by her Coton de Tulear, as she fought with a Tibetan Terrier over a bone.
The ITV newsreader, 49, who has 47 animals, told Great British Life: "Dot is in my bad books.
"She was supposed to be this lovely little lap tap and she's turned out to be the fiercest.
"Recently I tried to separate her from Molly, fighting over a bone, and she bit me. I ended up in hospital."
Natasha left hospital in a sling and is now safe and well.
Despite her injury the newsreader insists she "couldn't be without my dogs".
She added they make life "a bit chaotic" but it's "never boring" with them in it.
The animal lover said her perfect day "starts with wellies and ends in stilettos".
Natasha starred on Strictly in 2004, and was partnered with professional Brendan Cole.
The pair clinched the Glitterball trophy after beating Christopher Parker and Hanna Karttunen in the final.
Natasha lives with husband Justin Bower in Sussex, after deciding the countryside is a perfect space to raise all their five dogs.
The presenter has previously revealed on This Morning how she suffered multiple miscarriages which left her feeling "barren as a woman".
Natasha struggled to conceive after marrying Justin in 2005, and admitted that not being able to get pregnant made her feel like she "let her husband down", before she gave birth to son Arlo, who was born in 2008, and daughter Angelica, who was born two years later.
The TV star said what made it especially difficult was the feeling she was robbing Justin of the joy of fatherhood.
She said: "I felt I could manage my own disappointment.
"But I desperately wanted to make Justin a father and I just felt barren as a woman.
"Anyone [who has suffered miscarriages] will know that feeling of letting your partner down, for me it was that heartbreak. I was going to take away that joy for Justin and that made it extra hard."
