The ‘Bejeweled’ singer’s new studio effort marks the biggest week for any album in nearly seven years since Adele’s ’25’ bowed with 3.482 million units back in December 2015.
AceShowbiz –Taylor Swift scores her 11th No. 1 album after “Midnights” debuted atop Billboard 200 albums chart. The new studio effort arrives at No. 1 after launching with 1.578 million equivalent album units in the U.S. in the week ending October 27, according to Luminate.
The number marks the biggest week for any album in nearly seven years since Adele‘s “25” bowed with 3.482 million units back in December 2015. Of “Midnights” number, album sales comprise 1.140 million. SEA units comprise 419,000, equaling 549.26 million on-demand official streams of the set’s 20 total tracks, while TEA units comprise 19,000.
In addition, “Midnights” logs the third-largest streaming week ever for an album, by total on-demand official streams. It’s also named the biggest streaming week for a non-R&B/hip-hop album and any album by a woman.
Back to the chart, Lil Baby‘s “It’s Only Me” dips from No. 1 to No. 2 in its second week with 110,000 equivalent album units earned. Meanwhile, Bad Bunny‘s former leader “Un Verano Sin Ti” falls out of the Top 2 for the first time since its release as it moves down from No. 2 to No. 3 with 67,000 units.
Occupying No. 4 is Morgan Wallen‘s former No. 1 “Dangerous: The Double Album” which stays steady at the position after earning 43,000 equivalent album units. Also a non-mover this week is The Weeknd‘s “The Highlights”, which is at No. 5 with 39,000 units earned.
Arctic Monkeys‘s “The Car” marks the group’s fourth Top 10-charting album. The new set arrives at No. 6 after earning 37,500 equivalent album units in its first week. Another newcomer this week is NBA YoungBoy’s (YoungBoy Never Broke Again) “Ma’ I Got a Family” that bows at No. 7 on the Billboard 200 with 37,000 equivalent album units earned.
Harry Styles‘ “Harry’s House” trails behind at No. 8 with 32,000 equivalent album units earned. Jeezy (Young Jeezy) and DJ Drama‘s “Snofall” debuts at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 after earning 31,000 equivalent album units, marking the 11th Top 10 for the former and the first for the latter. Rounding out the Top 10 is Beyonce Knowles‘ former No. 1 “Renaissance” that falls from No. 6 to No. 10 with 30,000 equivalent album units earned.
