TikTok star Gabriel Salazar has reportedly died in a car crash at the age of 19.

It comes as heartbroken friends of the young star have paid emotional tributes to the content creator online.

It has been reported that the teenager was the victim of a traffic accident in San Antonia, Texas on Sunday (26 September).

Although Gabriel's death has not been confirmed yet, many of his friends have been posting tributes to the creator on social media.

Gabriel had racked up over one million followers on TikTok under his handle, @gabenotbabe.

He frequently shared comical videos of himself and his friends, including clips of him lip-syncing to various songs.

His last post, which came four days ago, showed Gabriel wearing a black hoodie and mouthing along to a rap track.

Gabriel's friend and fellow social media star Ricky Flores was devastated as he shared a series of snaps of him and Gabriel together on Instagram.

He penned: "Rest easy brother. Words can’t even explain how I feel right now. Man, I would do anything to get you back right now bro."

Ricky also shared a link to a GoFundMe page which has been created to raise money for a memorial for his friend.

The page aims to raise $25,000 and has currently received just under 1,000 donations at a total of $16,404.

A statement on the page, entitled Gabe's memorial fund', reads: "I don’t know what’s real and not real anymore but unfortunately gabe past away on a car crash September 26 we couldn’t believe it the moment we found out.

"Dont really want to get into details because it’s so hard for us to even talk about the pain he went through. Never expected this happen but now you’re watching over us .

"Gabriel loved his family and was always horsing around with her sister and little brother . He was always there with a big hug and smile, and his family will never forget those warm moments.

"He was so funny with a quiet sense of humor and sarcasm. I cannot believe that I am sitting here writing this. How is this real life?

"Words cannot express the heartbreak our entire community is feeling from the loss of our Gabriel . Your family and friends miss you .

"We are asking for support for his family. There will be time missed from work and funeral expenses that will be too much for his family to afford. Please consider donating and help relieve at least that sorrow and strain for his parents.[sic]"
