Victoria Beckham explains why she had David Beckham tattoo tribute removed

Victoria Beckham has finally explained why she had her tattoo tribute to her husband David Beckham removed.

The fashion designer, 48, sparked concern earlier this year when eagled-eyed Instagram fans noticed the Spice Girl had apparently removed the DB inking from her left wrist.

Amid ongoing speculation regarding the star's missing tattoo, Victoria has now cleared up any confusion.

Speaking on The Today Show last week, the mum-of-four confirmed to hosts Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb that she had undergone laser tattoo removal for primarily aesthetic reasons.

She also confirmed the "thick" tattoos had caused her to bleed.

Victoria said: "I had these tattoos a long long time ago and they just weren't particularly delicate.

"Mine were just a little bit thick and they were bleeding a little bit and they just weren't as pretty.

"They just didn’t look so nice. It doesn't mean anything more than that. I was just a bit sick of the tattoo. It's as simple as that."

Alongside David's initials, Victoria had the words 'Together, forever, eternally’ in Hebrew tattooed on her left wrist to mark the famous couple's tenth wedding anniversary.

The Harlow-born star also had the Latin phrase 'De Integro' inked on her right wrist.

Translated as 'again from the start', the tattoo appeared next to the roman numerals VIII-V-MMVI – which marked the couple's vow renewal ceremony on May 8, 2006.

Previously, Victoria had the Hebrew translation of 'I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine' transcribed on the back of her neck, with David sporting a matching tattoo on his arm.

She also had five stars inked on her lower back to represent her and her husband, as well as the couple's three sons – Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.

The years-old tattoo was completed before the birth of the couple's daughter Harper, 11, in 2011.

Earlier this month, Victoria defied fan criticism after they accused her of allowing Harper to wear an "inappropriate" outfit.
