Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez have split, according to Page Six. The former couple reportedly broke off their two-year engagement after reports that A-Rod had a wandering eye — one that was specifically looking at Madison LeCroy of Southern Charm fame, according to the Daily Mail. And while some people may have been shocked by J.Lo and A-Rod’s split, others saw it coming from a mile away. As of this writing, neither Lopez nor Rodriguez have confirmed the split, nor have they publicly commented on the reports.
In the hours leading up to the breaking news, however, Lopez took to her Instagram Stories to share a photo of her daughter Emme and her dad, J.Lo’s ex-husband Marc Anthony. Fans think that the photo may have been indicative of Lopez and Rodriguez’s decision to go their separate ways. Keep reading to find out why Lopez’s photo is causing a major stir.
Jennifer Lopez's daughter was seen crying in the Instagram photo
Jennifer Lopez shared a screenshot of her video-chatting with her daughter Emme (via the Daily Mail). On the phone’s screen, Emme had her arm around her dad, Marc Anthony, and was holding his hand, visibly upset. Lopez was in the upper lefthand corner and also appeared to be upset — likely because her daughter was emotional. “When they are sad but momma and daddy are there,” Lopez wrote on the photo, adding a white heart emoji, and tagging Anthony. She also hash-tagged the image “coconuts,” which is what she calls her twins, Emme and Max.
While it’s unclear why Emme was so emotional, many are connecting the tears to the news that Lopez split from Alex Rodriguez (via Page Six). Over the past few years, J.Lo and A-Rod have blended their families, spending a lot of time together and really bonding. (Rodriguez has two daughters from his first marriage, Natasha and Ella). According to Women’s Health Magazine, Emme was particularly close to Ella. While losing what Lopez may have thought was her forever love may have been difficult, the effect that this split has on the whole family will undoubtedly be hard, even if that’s not why Emme was actually crying.
