Will Young joined a protest at a beagle breeding facility in Huntington and handcuffed himself to the gate outside the front in support of Camp Beagle.
The singer has joined protesters who have been demanding the release of beagle puppies being reared for testing at the MBR Acres near RAF Wyton in Cambridgeshire.
The protest group 'Camp Beagle' shared the news to social media on November 16.
They penned: "Singer @willyoungofficial has handcuffed himself to the gates of MBR Acres! We DEMAND the release of the MBR Beagles!"
Will Young, 42, was seen sitting on the floor wearing a flat cap, a khaki jacket, a white t-shirt and jeans, CambridgeshireLive reported.
The Pop Idol winner was pictured handcuffed to the bars of the facility holding up a sign that read: "Cambridgeshire famous for beagle torture thank to MBR."
Will joked on his Instagram story sharing a snap of himself and penned: "I look like Steptoe and Son! Free the beagles and stop animal testing."
The singer, who is celebrating 20 years in the industry, told Metro.co.uk: "I wanted to bring attention to animal testing and the fact that this is a puppy farm that farms over 2,000 beagle puppies a year to be sent out to their inevitable torture and death.
"People do not know about it in this country and that is why I’ve handcuffed myself to the gates."
Officers from Cambridgeshire Constabulary also approached Will at the gates.
Will isn't the only high profile celebrity to call for the facility to be closed, with Ricky Gervais and Peter Egan also supporting the protesters.
The Cambridge facility is owned by a US-based company called Marshall BioResources, with the facility based in Cambridgeshire coming under fire in recent months as the campaign continued to grow.
Protesters from Camp Beagle are demanding the release of the dogs at the facility and to end the use of them for laboratory testing.
The company states that animals contribute to the "development of life saving therapies and treatments for humans and animals alike".
Daily Star has contacted Camp Beagle and Marshall BioResources for comment.
