Area 51 investigator says FBI raid on home was made to ‘silence’ UFO ‘research’

One of the world's prime Area 51 investigators has claimed the FBI made a raid on his home to "silence" his "research" into the area.

Area 51 has become synonymous with those exploring the vast depths of rumoured life beyond the stars, with the area attracting notable attention since the 1950s.

But one investigator claims military personnel and FBI officials raided his home in a raid that refutes the "real purpose" of the Area 51 military base.

Joerg Arnu, the Las Vegas, United States-based webmaster responsible for a flurry of alien allegations aimed at Area 51, found himself looking down the barrel of a gun not too long ago.

The base, a source of speculation for believers of aliens and unidentified flying objects, has received plenty of attention since the 1947 Roswell crash incident.

Alien expert Arnu has been running an Area 51-related site for the past 23 years and claims his research looks into the "Black Projects" allegedly held at the base.

Speaking on his run in with the FBI, Arnu said: "I'm asking 'okay, what is going on? What are you doing in my house?' I’m looking basically at this point at a riot shield and a gun that was drawn and pointed at me and an agent in a stern voice giving me commands.

"As it is right now, I have no clear understanding of what I’m being charged with or why my property was seized.

"Cellphones, memory sticks, backup drives, my camera equipment that is worth almost $10,000, my drone, everything was taken."

Since the raid, which Arnu also claims saw his girlfriend detained outside of the property as neighbours watched on, may have come about due to the material Arnu was publishing.

Although the alien expert is careful with what he posts as the information may be legitimately classified, he has said the sealed warrant was a way to "silence" the Area 51 community, New York Post reported.

He added: "I believe the search, executed with completely unnecessary force by overzealous government agents, was meant as a message to silence the Area 51 research community."
