Bloke caught with ‘large ball’ of crack cocaine between his buttocks by police

A man was jailed for 44 months after police found him with a “large ball” of crack cocaine between his bum cheeks.

Lewis Roberts, 44, was sentenced to prison on February 1 after he pleaded guilty to possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply at Cheshire Magistrates Court, despite initially telling officers that the drugs were for “personal use”

The Liverpudlian was arrested by Cheshire Police in early January after officers flagged down a car they believed was trafficking drugs between Liverpool and Northwich.

Lewis was a passenger in the car and when searched by officers, he was found with a large ball of crack cocaine which was hidden between his buttocks.

Officers also discovered a bag of heroin and a mobile phone in the back of the car.

Cheshire Police estimated the value of the drugs found to be nearly £5,000.

Two other people, a 35-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman, both from Winsford, were also arrested on suspicion of drug offences following the stop, though the pair have since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.

Detective Constable Claire Heatley said following the sentencing: “While Roberts attempted to claim that the drugs were for personal use, it is clear that he was a county lines dealer, bringing illegal drugs from Liverpool to sell in Northwich and Winsford.

“Thankfully, as a result of our work, we were able to intercept Roberts and remove almost £5,000 worth of class A drugs from the streets of mid-Cheshire. While Roberts is now behind bars, our crackdown on county lines dealers continues, and we will use all the tools available to us to ensure that Cheshire remains a hostile environment for criminals.”

Chief Inspector Leeroy Moss added: “Illegal drugs have a hugely detrimental impact and we are committed to doing all we can to remove those involved in the supply of such drugs from our communities”.
