The Chinese regime boasted about the deadly power of its nuclear arsenal in a 2013 report published in state-owned media. According to the report, a volley of nuclear warheads from China’s fleet of Jin-class submarines could wipe out between five and 12 million US citizens. The bloodcurdling estimate has now resurfaced in the wake of brewing tensions in the South China Sea.

It was revealed this week China is in the process of developing uncrewed “War Hunter” ships capable of firing surface to air missiles and torpedoes.

Fears of an all-out conflict between China and Taiwan were also sparked after the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has vowed to “crush” the island.

Officials in Beijing warned “war may be triggered at any time” and threatened Taiwan’s allies with the prospect of becoming “cannon fodder”.

As the conflict escalates, experts fear the two countries could trade blows during an invasion of the island.

And there is a growing concern the US could get involved if the Chinese launch a full-scale invasion of the island.

Should the US ever clash with China, experts have warned the conflict could go nuclear.

According to a report compiled by the US-China Economic Security Review Commission, China’s submarine fleet has the range to strike virtually anywhere in the US.

China’s JL–2 submarines have a range of approximately 4,598 miles, which puts them within reach of a nuclear strike on Alaska if launched from Chinese waters.

Tony Abbott claims Beijing's war with Taiwan will start 'soon'

Similarly, the submarines could strike Hawaii if launched from waters south of Japan.

And “all 50 US states” would be at risk of the submarines ever ventured into the waters near Hawaii.

The Chinese regime bragged about the power of its submarines in a 2013 article sponsored by the CCP.

The article examined a scenario in which 20 nuclear warheads were dropped on the US.

It was accompanied by a graphic depicting the destructive effect of China’s intercontinental ballistic missiles striking Los Angeles, which had a population of more than three million in 2013.

The Chinese article read: “After a nuclear missile strikes a city, the radioactive dust produced by 20 warheads will be spread by the wind, forming a contaminated area for thousands of kilometres.

“The survival probability for people outdoors in a [746 to 870 mile] radius is basically zero.

“Based on the actual level of China’s one million tons TNT equivalent small nuclear warhead technology, the 12 JL–2 nuclear missiles carried by one JIN nuclear submarine could cause the destruction of five million to 12 million people, forming a very clear deterrent effect.

“There is not a dense population in the United States’ midwest region, so to increase the destructive effect, the main soft targets for nuclear destruction in the United States will be the main cities on the west coast, such as Seattle, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Diego.”

China has recently come under fire after it was accused of aiding the North Korean regime in the development of a new hypersonic missile.

China has been developing its own hypersonic weaponry, which is much faster and harder to intercept than conventional ballistic missiles.

Late in 2019, the Chines regime unveiled the Dongfeng-17 (DF-17) medium-range ballistic missile armed with a DF-ZF hypersonic glide vehicle (GHV).
